Financial Accountability
At Hope For The Maasai, we recognize that we have a responsibility to be good stewards of the gifts and resources that God provides through generous donors. It is our desire and commitment to be transparent and accountable as we carry out our work.
We are governed by a responsible board of directors who establish policies, approve budgets, guide organizational programs, and ensure donations are used for the programs/projects for which they were raised.
Our financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP - Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and are made available to the public upon request.
From every dollar donated to projects or programs:
85% goes directly to projects and programs.
5% goes to fundraising.
10% goes to general and administrative expenses.
We respect and protect the privacy of our donors.
Our fundraising campaigns clearly identify the purpose for which funds are being raised and those funds will be applied accordingly. If and when donations exceed the needs of a project or program, any surplus will be applied to the most urgent needs.
We are a debt free organization relying solely upon donations to support our operations. As donations grow, our programs and projects grow accordingly.
