In January of 2014, Jason took his first mission trip to Kenya with Pastor Ben Hays and was forever changed by the experience. A deep love for the people and a lasting commitment to their welfare was formed. Hope for the Maasai is a result of that commitment.  Mandy soon followed as the first female member of the team.  Together their desire is to see the missional vision of Pastor Josephat Kaloi realized and the Maasai people liberated from spiritual and physical poverty.

RANDALL "COOP" COOPER

Coop surrendered to full-time ministry in 2013 after 10 years of bi-vocational and volunteer ministry. He currently resides in Henderson, Texas, where he serves as Interim Pastor for Hillview Baptist Church and also teaches Middle School Bible, HS & MS Athletics, and Algebra II for Full Armor Christian Academy. He graduated from the University of Houston Clear Lake in May of 2003 with a BS in Finance. He and his wife, Rachel, have two young boys. He loves to spend time with his family, read, golf, and check out his hometown Astros when he has a chance. He has a true passion for this organization and a burden in his heart for the Maasai people.

He went to Kenya for the 1st time in August of 2014 with Jason Simpson. This was his first international mission trip, and it was a life-changing experience. He preached the Gospel to many people, listened to their troubles, heard about their many blessings, and became a fellow Maasai brother. He was given the name "Saruni" which means dependable. He was blessed beyond his wildest dreams by their TRUE LOVE for Christ and His Word. He got to go for a second trip in January of 2016 and is looking forward to another trip to Maasai Land. Coop loves to talk about his trips, but you'd better pull up a chair because you will be there for a while! Coop's life verse is Isaiah 6:8 - "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying: Who should I send? Who will go for Us? I said: Here I am. Send me."
